Freddie Gibbs & Vevo Debut Ctrl Live Session Performance Of Cataracts

When it comes to some of the best emcees right now and of the last decade-plus, Freddie Gibbs, is definitely among the best and most standout to emerge.  Not only heralded in Gangsta Rap and Underground Hip-Hop as a true fan favorite, but Hip-Hop as a whole.

First emerging in the mid to late 2000s, Gibbs was signed to Interscope Records, where he recorded what was supposed to be his debut album before getting dropped from the label after they switched management.  The Gary, Indiana emcee would go on to release several critically-acclaimed mixtapes, such as, midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik, with DJ Skee in 2009 and his very stellar retail debut, in the form of the, Str8 Killa EP, in 2010.  Gibbs has gone on to produce a very amazingly dope catalogue that includes everything from ESGN to Shadow of a Doubt and the very classic debut collaboration album with producer Madlib, Piñata, in March 2014.  Following up with the just as classic sophomore album between the combo of Gibbs and Madlib, last June, in, Bandana.

Freddie has worked with everyone from Skee to DJ Drama, Jeezy, The Game, Jay Rock, BJ the Chicago Kid, Curren$y, The Alchemist, Statik Selektah, Raekwon, and Scarface, as well as the previously mentioned Madlib.  Among several others he has worked with so far in his pretty amazing career.  His album, Bandana, he released with Madlib, still among the highlights and best releases of his career thus far.

So it should be no surprise that Gibbs is the latest to be apart of Vevo’s latest new original live series, Ctrl.  Both Vevo and the very lyrically raw and real Gibbs debuting/premiering earlier today, the very raw and effortlessly dope, Ctrl Live Session, performance of what’s arguably not only one of easily the best tracks on the aforementioned album.  But one of the best and most real so far of Freddie Kane’s career with, Cataracts.
