Beyoncé Performs Beautifully Moving Tribute For Opening Of Kobe & Gianna Bryant: A Celebration Of Life

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter was one of several musicians, athletes, entertainers, family and friends from all walks of life of 20,000 gathered in attendance at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon for the public memorial service of the late great Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant.   In what was dubbed, “A Celebration of Life” to more celebrate their lives rather than memorialize it all.

Beyoncé kicked off what was a very emotional, touching and heartfelt, as well as somber day by giving a very beautifully just as emotionally moving and touching tribute/performance of her song, XO.  Taken from her 2013 self-titled album, the very iconic singer donned in a gold pantsuit in honor of Kobe performed by a backing choir and string section as she belted the very beautifully touching record.

”I’m here because I love Kobe and this was one of his favorite songs,” said Bey before restarting the performance.  “So I want to start that over but I want us to do it all together and I want you to sing it so loud they can hear your love.”

With everyone from former NBA greats such as Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson to MLB great Alex Rodriguez, and his fiancée Jennifer Lopez.  Not to mention many former teammates such as Shaquille O’Neal, Derek Fisher and Rick Fox looking on, Beyoncé would transition into a very beautifully emotional and touching heartfelt rendition of her song, Halo, for the seven-minute emotionally touching tribute.  As Kobe’s late widow, Vanessa Bryant, looked on clapping from her seat, after clearly being acknowledged by Bey, who just a moment before blew a kiss and looked up to the sky saying, “I love you.”  In regards to her and everyone’s love for the late great icon.
