Alicia Keys Gives Love To All Underdogs In Empowering New Video For Inspiringly Uplifting New Anthem, Underdog

Ahead of her hosting gig for a second straight year at The GRAMMYs on Jan. 26th, very talented singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, debuted yesterday through Vevo her empowering and inspiring new Wendy Morgan-directed video for, Underdog.  The very inspiring and just as empowering, as well as motivationally uplifting new anthem, which she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran and co-produced with Johnny McDaid; debuted along with the visual being perfectly brought to life through the new clip.  Which shows Keys highlighting the everyday struggles of those overlooked and underestimated such as teachers, single mothers, hustlers and everyone that don’t always get their just due for the hard work they do.  As she looks to empower and provide refugee and inspiration for those chasing their dreams or just helping their families to survive and get through life.

“Some people may think of the word underdog as a negative word but I see it as a powerful word representing people who may be underestimated and yet still rise to the challenge and exceed expectations,” says Keys in a press release.  “I love this so much because it’s about real life and real people and our experiences.  We’ve all been in a place in our lives where we’ve had to defy the odds.  It’s never easy.  One of my favorite lyrics in the song is, ‘They say I would never make it but I was built to break the mold.’  I don’t think there’s a person on the planet that hasn’t felt that way.”

Off her upcoming highly-anticipated seventh album, A.L.I.C.I.A.  Which is set for release sometime this Spring and she already released the singles Time Machine and the Miguel-assisted duet, Show Me Love, you can watch and listen to the new video/single below.  This is just the start of what’s sure to be a big 2020 for the 15-time Grammy-award winner, who will be hosting the awards as previously mentioned and not to mention besides her new album she will be releasing her memoir, More Myself: A Journey on March 31st.
