Chicago’s Own Rockie Fresh Shows Off City In New Video, Round Here, Reveals Debut Album Release

Chicago’s very own Rockie Fresh is by far one of the most standout and talented of the current great young rising crop of emcees hailing from mine and his hometown that have emerged over the past 6-7 years or almost last decade.  Formerly signed to Rock Ross’ MMG back in 2012, the Chicago native appeared on the MMG compilation Self Made Vol. 3 and released several mixtapes while with the label, but never put out his debut album.  Rockie then decided to sign with Rostrum Records last October to finally put out his debut album.

So after much anticipation and a little over a year after signing with Rostrum, the Chicago emcee is now finally set to release his debut album.  Announcing earlier today in an exclusive with Billboard that he will finally after years of hard work be putting out his debut album, Destination, on Nov. 15th.  Sitting at 12 tracks and with features from everyone ranging from Chris Brown to 24Hrs, Casey Veggies, Arin Ray and Tory Lanez, Rockie even premiered through Billboard the albums latest single and video, Round Here.  A very sharply shot and crisp visual that finds the Windy City native showing off some of the various parts of the city, as him and his team ride around the city for the very laidback clip to show some of the places they like to ride around the city that are like hidden gems.

The laidback visual matching the energetic, yet laidback vibe of the new single perfectly.  That should hold fans over till the album drops in about a week and a half.  Rockie looking to make sure that fans are satisfied after waiting so many years for his debut album to finally drop said this is a real personal album too.  “The album should be expected to be well rounded, showcasing a lot of different styles and emotions.  [I’m] letting fans more into my personal life.”

Being that it’s his real first official debut album and that it’s the album you work your whole life leading up, I think that’s what most expect.  So it should be interesting to see what he says on the album.  Me and a lot of others from the city will especially be looking and paying attention to how it all turns out and if he can truly make us and the rest of the city proud, like we expect he will.
