The fourth and final day of the 2019 edition of Lollapalooza in Chicago’s famed Grant Park on Sunday brought quite a few artists making their debut at the world-renowned four-day Chicago music festival that ranged from rappers Meek Mill and J.I.D to genre-defying entertainer Masego, among others.  It was a day that was filled with plenty of diversity as most who had attended the previous three days as well, tried to make it through to the end.

Masego, who’s more known for his producing and saxophone playing musicianship is a pretty talented singer and songwriter.  That’s also well-known for his genre-bending fusion of R&B, Soul, Jazz and Funk, which he refers to as, “TrapHouseJazz,” and was among those making their Lollapalooza debut.  As he took the American Eagle stage on Sunday during his late afternoon set, in which the multi-talented genre-bending entertainer, showed why he’s among the most talented contemporary young musicians that have emerged over the past few years such as the likes of Terrace Martin, Anderson .Paak, GoldLink and James Fauntleroy.

Bringing soulfully smooth and beautifully jazzy vibes to his set, along with his great smooth singing voice.  Not to mention his great musicianship he showed playing the piano and saxophone a few times during his set.  Masego delivered what was not only easily one of the most diverse sets of the whole festival, but one of the best performances of the whole four days as well.

His great backup singer he had along with him was pretty talented in her own right too and blended so smoothly and well with Masego and his soulfully jazzy smooth vocals.  That makes you want to find out what her name is as well cause she has a very soulfully great singing voice of her own that many others would probably want to utilize as more than just a great live backdrop singer.

Masego definitely impressed with his debut Lollapalooza performance though and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back at the festival yet again in a few more years.  Whether it be in a more prime-time slot is up in the air, but he definitely delivered a very soulfully jazzy smooth set that will be remembered as one of the better ones from this year’s edition of Lollapalooza.  That was also much-needed to really cool down on one of the more hotter days of the festival and extended four-day long weekend for many.
