Wu-Tang Clan Show How Legendary They Still Are With Classic New Tiny Desk Concert Performance

Wu-Tang Clan show how legendary they still are, as they continue to celebrate the recent milestone 25th anniversary of their seminal groundbreaking classic debut album, Wu-Tang: Enter the 36 Chambers.  Giving a very stellar and classic new Tiny Desk Concert performance, which NPR Music first premiered earlier today.  All the living members (sans Method Man and Ghostface Killah) hit up the infamous Tiny Desk studios to become the latest in the ever growing lists of legendary performers such as Rakim, Black Thought, and even rising stars such as Jorja Smith and Khalid, to perform for the ever-growing concert series.  Unlike most of those popular NPR sets, which the performers take one or more breaks mid-set, the iconic Staten Island group went all the way through several of their classics in their extended classic catalog.  Backed by The Green Project on the strings, Raekwon, RZA, Inspectah Deck, GZA, Cappadonna, Masta Killa and U-God performed a very memorable nearly 20 minute medley of several of their most standout tracks.  Kicked off by Triumph along with Protect Ya Neck, Glacier of Ice and C.R.E.A.M, among the tracks they went through.  The performance nearly morphed into a classic old-school cipher that showed the chemistry between the childhood friends is as strong now as it’s ever been.  RZA giving a very memorable off the dome in the latter part of the performance and Young Dirty Bastard, the son of original member, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, even providing a spark of energy mid-performance by jumping on the desk and losing his mind.  Which was very reminiscent of his late father and thus providing Tiny Desk not only one of the most noteworthy classic performances, but memorable moments in their already very amazing history.
