New Artist Spotlight – Jess Connelly with Call Me

It has once again been awhile since we did one of our new artist spotlights, actually dating back to April with homegrown Chicago talent, Austin Fillmore.  But today me and the rest of the team here at TheHipHopDemocrat, decided to bring back yet again our very popular New Artist Spotlight for just the second time in 2018.  This time highlighting one of R&B/Soul’s rising sure to be great new talents in Manila-based singer/songwriter, Jess Connelly, who just dropped her very amazing new single, Call Me.

A very dreamy new Dave Drake and Naz co-produced record that has the very talented Connelly showing off her truly great songwriting abilities and knack for storytelling on the new track, which she just dropped as a gift to fans after announcing her new mixtape, JCON, will be dropping on Aug. 24th.  As over the slow-winding guitar riffs and percussions she so soulfully sings about a love she’s waiting to call her when their lonely and longing for her.

The part Filipino and part Australian, who’s been songwriting since she was 13 years old and been a classically trained vocalist since she began singing as a child.  Showing how much the Australian-born and later migrated to the Philippines talent has already done at such a young age with her very amazing vocals on the record.  Connelly has already been releasing music on her own that has sonically strayed from the norm and her one-of-a-kind artistry has already started making her a big name in Manila’s ever-growing entertainment industry in the underground R&B scene.  So with her mixtape dropping soon expect to hear a lot more from this very talented singer/songwriter, not only in the near future, but possibly many more years to come as well.
