Chavis Chandler Drops Very Reflective New Single, Hell & Back feat. Royce Da 5’9″

Detroit emcee, Chavis Chandler, is getting ready to drop his upcoming debut album, One Winged Angel, in June and with today being 5/9, which is also his birthday, he decides to premiere through Complex the lead single, Hell & Back featuring none other than quite appropriately fellow Detroit emcee,  Royce Da 5’9″.  Which finds the duo over the very smooth and laidback keys of the Crowe & Dennis Mars-produced track getting very reflective and personal about what they had to do to get to this point.  Chandler telling Complex, “I met Royce back in 2012, I was growing my brand and my style and he invited me to the studio to sit in on his sessions.  He got me back into boxing and that discipline helped me focus more on my music; and less on the streets.  Royce changed my life. ‘Hell & Back’ is touching on some of the obstacles I’ve had to overcome as a young artist; but more importantly as a man.  I know Royce can relate with that.”

This isn’t the first time the pair collaborated either, as they also did on Royce & Premier’s, PRhyme 2 and Royce’s recent solo album, Book of Ryan.

Royce adding the following comments to Complex,”‘Hell & Back’ is just the beginning for us.  Chavis is someone who reminds me a lot of myself as a younger artist.  He’s so raw and talented and progressing with every new song I hear.  I can’t wait for the world to see in him what I see.”

Listen to the very amazing new collaboration from the two Detroit natives below and lookout for Chandler’s album, which drops next month.
