Drawing inspiration from the cult classic, Belly, which is coming up on its 20th anniversary, singer/songwriter, Elijah Blake gives us the very cinematic new Sean Alexander-directed video for Blake’s very infectious Marvin Gaye-inspired standout single, Black & Blue.  Easily one of the more standout records from Blake’s very critically-acclaimed latest solo album, Audiology, the Belly-inspired visual, which premiered earlier today through Vevo, is perfect because how it really brings the late night lover’s anthem and very passionate strong vocal emotions of admiration for his woman to life.  As he tries to assure her of how perfect she’s in every way and give that modern sexual healing to help bring some of that classic, good lovin’ late night anthems of classic old-school R&B that Gaye, Luther Vandross, The Isley Brothers, Boyz III Men and so many others perfected truly to life.  Which Blake and his longtime director partner, Alexander really do by recreating so seamlessly perfect the classic very dark, rough and sexually sensual memorable scene so many remember from Belly for the very amazingly executed new visual.
