Nearly a month and a half after dropping her very amazing first two singles and videos for her upcoming highly-anticipated new third solo album album, Dirty Computer, which release date is fast approaching too, Janelle Monáe is back with her latest single and visual, PYNK. A very empowering and aesthically great new Emma Westenberg-directed video in which she celebrates women and pussy power for the very fun new record, which shows the various great sounds of Hip-Hop, Funk and Soul, that Monáe likes to mix together to show she doesn’t really have one defined sound. The visual for the Rocket & Chuck Lightning co-produced record, is also a very fierce and feminine one with a very powerful and empowering message for women too and comes at the perfect time, as many women as Monáe, show great queen like representations for the young girls that are transitioning to womanhood and need it in these very empowering times for women now, who are facing a lot with all that’s going on in the entertainment industry too.
The very great singer/songwriter dancing and having a good time with all her girls, she celebrates all things pink, or pynk and had the following to say about the empowering and fun new single/video in a statement. “PYNK, is a brass celebration of creation. self love. sexuality. and pussy power! PYNK is the color that unites us all, for pink is the color found in the deepest and darkest nooks and crannies of humans everywhere… PYNK is were the future is born.”
With her album and emotion picture for Dirty Computer’s release already nearing in a couple of weeks from this Friday on April 27th, you can watch Monáe’s very fierce, feminists and empoweringly aesthically amazing new visual below to hold you over till its release at the end of the month.
