Royce Da 5’9″ & J. Cole Reminisce About Old Good Times, In Nostalgic New Video, Boblo Boat

From dropping PRhyme 2 with DJ Premier just a few weeks ago to features on various tracks and now also readying his own very highly-anticipated seventh solo album, Book of Ryan, Royce Da 5’9″ has had quite the busy 2018 and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

As only a week after announcing the albums May 4th release date and revealing the cover and tracklisting.  Royce didn’t waste anytime in switching promotion from PRhyme 2 to his solo album by dropping the J. Cole featured lead single, Boblo Boat.

The very soulful and nostalgic Cool & Dre, as well as 808 Ray co-produced track, which is an ode to Royce’s youth on Boblo Island, also being the lone feature.  Nickle and Cole decided to bring those same nostalgic and great feel-good vibes of reminiscing down memory lane of their youth for the new Cole-directed video for the track, which was premiered through Complex yesterday by way of Vevo.

The new visual having both at a carnival, as they perform their great storytelling verses in between scenes of teenagers having their own memorable feel-good night out.  A cameo from the great and legendary, Cedric the Entertainer as a security guard who falls asleep on duty when the teens sneak into the carnival really helping bring the nostalgic and feel-good vibes of the track truly to life.

You can take a trip down memory lane with Royce and Cole in the rare Cole featured and directed visual below.
