U-God Drops Lyrically Raw, New Single, Bit Da Dust

With his latest highly-anticipated new solo album, Venom, set to finally drop exactly a week from this Friday on March 30th, Wu-Tang Clan member, U-God, gives us the second single from the album.  One of his most lyrically raw solo tracks to date, it has that classic gritty Wu sound and him touching on longevity in Hip-Hop.  While also giving out lessons about what to do and avoid to maintain so.  Something the emcee and his fellow Clan members know very well, as this year marks the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking and classic debut album, 36 Chambers.  That isn’t all the emcee has on his plate either, as he also recently released his memoir, RAW: My Journey Into The Wu-Tang, about his rise to fame with one of the most storied groups of all-time in not only Hip-Hop, but music history.

U-God having the following to say in a statement about the single and it’s artwork, “The image portrayed on the cover artwork is no one in particular.  It is merely a play on the song which clearly gives good advice.  If you don’t play by the rules you get stuck for your jewels.”

You can check the new track below, which proves why I think he’s easily one of the more underrated and underappreciated members of the group too.  Also be sure to check him on his current RAW/Venom Tour he’s on in support of both his album and the book, if you get a chance to.  The Chicago stop here at Beat Kitchen this Sunday, March 25th, for all of our fellow Chicagoans or if you happen to be here in Chicago at the time.
