Janelle Monáe Readies Emotion Picture, Drops 2 New Videos, “Make Me Feel” & “Django Jane”

Singer, actress, producer and overall great entertainer, Janelle Monáe is ready to return to her first love music and share her new emotion picture to the world.  Which by definition is a narrative film and accompanying musical album.  Five years since releasing her last album, the multi-talented singer is ready to give us her highly-anticipated third solo album, Dirty Computer, which is obviously the album to the narrative film.  Currently available for pre-order and set for an April 23rd release date, Monáe recently shared a trailer for the album and now earlier today through YouTube she released the first two singles through two new visuals.  First up the very funky and colorful, fashion-forward and vibrant Alan Ferguson-directed video for, Make Me Feel.  With its vibrant and funky dance-centric vibes that captures the dance revolution of 80’s music, which really brings the record truly to life, it’s an obvious homage to Monáe’s late great mentor and idol, Prince.  So get up and get your groove on to have a funky good time with Janelle’s, Make Me Feel, below.

For the second single and visual, Monáe shows she can actually rap too and is damn good at it, with the anthemic, Django Jane.  As the singer shows she’s on her Queen ish with her implacable and unapologetically hard flow and powerful message that celebrates black women, while also delivering a message about identity in the Andrew Donoho and Chuck Lightning co-directed video.  Which also features additional vagina monologue footage by Lacey Duke. So help raise your fists and show how hard and powerfully empowering a true queen is supposed to be.
