Young RJ Drops Introspective New Record, I Know feat. Phat Kat & Guilty Simpson

Last year Slum Village member, Young RJ dropped his debut album, Blaq Royalty and while some may still be listening or had the album fly under their radar, the emcee is already back with new material for the new year.  As not even a full month and a half into the new year, RJ drops the very introspective new record, I Know featuring Phat Kat and fellow Detroit native, Guilty Simpson.  A record where over the nice drums and instrumentals of the soulful backdrop, all three emcees give perspective introspective truthfelt lyrics on all the obstacles young African-American men have to go through, from mass incarceration to drugs and several other norms placed in their communities that set them up to fail.  RJ himself having the following to say in a statement, “I Know’ discusses the issues arising from Black Men being products of their envivornment.  Due to the intricate economic systems put in place, Black men have been set up to fail from the womb (or beginning).  Many feel this is a controversial topic, with a lot of truth behind it.”
