The team of Torii Wolf & DJ Premier has reconnected for a very stunningly haunting new collabo, Silent Crow. The first since the duo teamed up for the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter’s debut album, Flow Riiot, which was released last Sept. via Premier’s newest label imprint, TTT.
Premiered yesterday through Complex. The very haunting and deep new original record, which the duo created as an exclusive specifically for Amazon Music’s Valentine’s Day themed, Love Me & Love Me Not Playlists, finding Torii & Preemo once again showing the undeniable great chemistry they have.
Wolf giving very beautifully deep poetic relationship-centered lyrics over the haunting Premier-produced bright pianos and funky dreams of the funky soul-sample breakbeat backdrop. Which shows how stunning a record the two can always create when they collaborate.
“Silent Crow has a very deep and haunting feel for me,” Wolf told Complex about the record. “The feeling of being so in love but feeling the death of the relationship on his way to take you from the home you’ve built. Sometimes true love isn’t enough to live on. Special ingredients in the recipe can be hard to measure. Doesn’t always turn out how you wanted it to taste. That’s not always a bad thing either.”
