The new single serving as the second from her upcoming highly-anticipated comeback album, Sex & Cigarettes. Which is scheduled for a March 23rd release and will also be Braxton’s eighth solo album. It’s also her first album since her 2014 Grammy Award-winning collaboration album with Babyface, Love, Marriage & Divorce, as well as her first solo album in nearly a decade.
While her lead single, Deadwood, was a hit that reached Top 10 on the Adult R&B songs charts and I admittedly loved a lot. It didn’t have that true classic sensually beautiful R&B sound we come to expect from Toni. While, Long As I Live, is a sensually seductive sultry beautiful mid-tempo jam like the classic Braxton records of the 90’s that made her such a legend.
Like those records this one, once again showcases the singer’s signature smoky great vocals that are so recognizable and always made her standout. Always helping to make each song that much better too.
The new record finds Toni showing off her timeless sultry sensually beautiful voice. As she sings very relatable lyrics about a love she will always remember as long as she lives for this beautifully amazing love song. An instant classic that has those classic old-school pure R&B/Soul vibes, you can hear all the emotion in her lyrics, as she sings and over the smooth mellow backdrop shows all these new artists how you’re supposed to truly sang.
This is one of those records that definitely has Grammy written all over it and should be another Urban Adult Contemporary hit for the singer.
