Chicago Takes It Back To Classic Old School Hip-Hop & R&B, With New Station, 104.3 JAMS

You can’t stand most of today’s Hip-Hop & R&B played on the radio, the few times you may still listen to the radio and want that old thing back.  While you’re in luck, as this past Friday, mine and yours hometown of Chicago launched new FM radio station, 104.3 JAMS.

A new Entercom launched station dedicated to the throwback Hip-Hop/R&B songs of the 90’s and early 2000’s.  In a press release it said that the new station is, “Chicago’s #1 for Throwbacks, the ultimate destination for classic Hip-Hop and R&B.”

The press release also said that it “will define the most memory-making era in music and super-serve the entire Chicago community.”  It will also “capture the essence of Chicago from when the Bulls won six NBA championships, to when locals like Oprah and Barack Obama became homegrown heroes.”

To celebrate the launch of, The New 104.3 JAMS, the station started on Friday at 12 PM EST/ 11 AM CST, airing 10,000 songs in a row, back-to-back, and 100% commercial-free.  Listeners being able to tune in at 104.3 JAMS and around the world at 1043jams.com

I haven’t got a chance to check the station, yet myself, but plan on doing so soon and either me and/or more of the staff here at The Hip Hop Democrat, will let you know our thoughts and if the station is really worth your time, for any of you radio listeners out there here in Chicago.
