Alessia Cara Gives Rousing Performance on Debut SNL Performance

A few years ago, rising Def Jam R&B/Pop sensation Alessia Cara predicted she would one day make an appearance on the famed Saturday Night Live stage in New York and over this weekend Cara did just that by making her first ever appearance on SNL.

As on this Saturday Feb. 4th the very talented and amazing singer/songwriter delivered a very empowering and rousing performance in her debut Saturday Night Live performance.  Performing her very empowering latest hit single, Scars to Your Beautiful in a very stunning all black outfit, the Canadian songstress backed by an orchestral ensemble and backup singers, gave a very rousing performance of her motivational anthem, which let Alessia’s voice really soar across the show’s storied stage.

Later on another standout record of Cara’s “River of Tears” really allowing the singer to showcase the very amazing vocal strength that’s helped make her one of music’s biggest rising stars to date.  As backed by a pianist she sang the amazing lyrics with quite conviction, singing, “I believe that you are everything I needed.  But I don’t need no more.”

It ended what has been a very good few weeks for the storied Def Jam label and seen two of the biggest artists from the label perform on SNL in consecutive weeks.  Showing just how much of a pulse the label has started to have not only in just Hip-Hop, like it always has, but Pop, R&B and Soul among other genres now as well, which you never would have thought when the label started almost three decades ago.
