New Method Man – The Purple Tape feat. Raekwon & Inspectah Deck

Method Man - The Meth Lab album cover

Exactly two weeks from tomorrow, legendary Staten Island emcee and Wu-Tang clan member, Method Man will be dropping his first solo album in 9 years, The Meth Lab, on Aug. 21st via Tommy Boy Entertainment/Hanz On Music, and today he decided to release the third single already from said project with The Purple Tape. A track that over that gritty, classic street Eastcoast 90’s Hip-Hop production J57 provides, finds Meth reconnecting with his fellow Clan brothers Raekwon and Inspectah Deck. With the history and significance the title holds to the emcees and Wu-heads, it was only right to throw The Chef on a track of that name, which all three Wu members killed of course. One of the best parts of the track too, is part of the hook that reminds everyone, “Wu Tang is for the children,” and is rapped by none other then Mef’s son, Rae Butta aka Raekwon.  The track can be listened to below. https://soundcloud.com/tommyboy/purple-tape
