Ciara, Jason Derulo & Tinashe Perform Janet Jackson Dance Tribute at 2015 BET Awards

The main highlight at last night’s 2015 BET Awards for most is when musical icon Janet Jackson’s big musical comeback was kicked off at the BET Awards by her being honored with the inaugural Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual award.  As she also received a dance tribute from some of today’s biggest pop stars in Ciara, Jason Derulo and Tinashe.

With her longtime producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis opening up by recalling their first meeting with Janet in Minneapolis, before a mini movie with some of her biggest moments of her career flashing on screen you can see and feel the star power there.  As breaking from normal regular tribute form, the trio of Ciara, Jason and Tinashe all danced to many of Janet’s classics.  A real testament to the global superstar’s ability to so solidly mesh tunes with choreographed dance like no other.

Newcomer and Los Angeles’ very own Tinashe had one of the most daunting tasks by opening the tribute.  But she did a real solid job and true justice as complete with the chair, Tinashe recreated the “Pleasure Principle” dance sequence before Jason came out to 2001’s “All For You.”  Ciara’s long-awaited moment then coming, as she sealed the deal with the classic “If” dance scene and looking like an almost exact clone of a young Janet really brought the crowd to their feet, before Jason and Tinashe came back out to very appropriately close out with “Rhythm Nation.”

Janet’s new single “No Sleep” then played before a group of her backup dancers and the icon emerged to a huge standing ovation.  With the icon looking all elegant and very stunning, as well as angelic in all white.

With Janet thanking her husband and parents, who were both in the audience, as well as all of her fans for their loyalty over the years.
