Beyoncé, Sam Smith Lead Grammy Nominations and Beyoncé Becomes Most Nominated Woman In Grammys History

It’s Grammy time and earlier today the nominees for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards were announced with the major categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year being announced just a mere hours ago during a CBS’s ” A Very GRAMMY Christmas” special that aired on CBS, which is also airing the awards show that will take place in a little over a couple of months on Feb. 8th, 2015 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Beyoncé along with Sam Smith received the most nominations with six nods apiece and Pharrell Williams along with Usher, Sia, Miranda Lambert, Iggy Izalea, Eric Church, Gordon Goodwin and Jack White each scored four nominations each.

Beyoncé earned nominations in the coveted Album of the Year category, as well as Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Surround Sound Album and Best Music Album.  Her six nominations also make her the most nominated woman ever in the history of the Grammys.

One of the most amazing nominations for Sam Smith that he was probably most excited for was thee coveted Song of the Year category in which he will have his hit record “Stay With Me” vie for the award against some pretty solid competition in Sia’s “Chandelier,” Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” and Iggy Izalea’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX.

The always controversial Rap Album of the Year category included Iggy’s The New Classic, Childish Gambino’s Because the Internet, Common’s Nobody Smiling, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP II, ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron and Wiz Khalifa’s Blacc Hollywood.
