Almost exactly two weeks after joining Lupe Fiasco on his Haile Selassie promo single for weekly Friday tracks he has been dropping the past couple of weeks, very talented and beautiful singer/songwriter Nikki Jean returns with a new solo record entitled Rivers. The appropriately titled song is a very sincere tune about a woman weeping with her river of tears out over a failed relationship and how her river of tears help her get through it. The really amazing record really let’s Nikki show off her really lovely and amazing vocals over the mostly live sounding instrumentation of the Donnie Trumpet and Double-0 co-production (Donnie mostly playing the trumpet throughout it) with the piano solo at the end adding the perfect touch to end off the song right. This is another very amazing effort from Nikki that’s set to be on her upcoming soon to be released Champagne Water EP.
