With just a couple of weeks till the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, RTJ2, on Tuesday Oct. 28th, Hip-Hop supergroup Run The Jewels gives us another new single off the album with the sample heavy and very aggressive Close Your Eyes (And Count To F**k). Just as you would think from the second part of the name of the track, it’s the perfect marriage of a rap-rock flavored record that has Mike and Jamie over El-P’s perfect abrasive mix of chopped vocal samples and greatly placed ultra-distorted guitar riffs going ten fold and more on their fiery political rap along with Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha, who is a surprisingly great feature that can spit great political raps with the best of them as he shows here. I was already anticipating RTJ2 a lot like I’m sure many others as well, but after hearing this it definitely has mine and I’m sure many others fans anticipation for the album that much higher to the point of it not coming soon enough.
