If the name or sound of No I.D.’s latest ARTium Records artist he introduced us to, Snoh Aalegra, sounds familiar that’s because she’s been featured on several ARTium Records artists or associates releases from Mikkey Halsted to most recently legendary emcee/actor & activist Common’s latest solo album, Nobody’s Smiling. The Swedish songstress has even let loose a few loosies of her own, but yesterday she released her first real introduction as a solo artist with “Fire’s All Around You.” The record is a real nice one too, which let’s Aalegra show over the percussion-free synth string arrangement of the legendary Chicago producer’s production her beautifully unique vocals very poetically and almost acoustically about the comforts and dangers of love. I really love the emotion and impressive heavenly sound, as well as look she put into the record too that show she has a real bright future ahead of her. I’m definitely looking very forward to hearing her currently untitled/unscheduled debut and more from Snoh in the future.
