Almost exactly a couple weeks after his latest promo release, Real Love Never Dies, very talented R&B/Soul singer/songwriter, BJ The Chicago Kid is back with his latest promo single, Wednesday Weekend. Although it would’ve been more appropriate to actually drop it on Wednesday, the Chicago native releases it on this Monday to start the new week and makes it feel like it’s a weekend where he gets his freak on by waxing sweet-nothing poetics to his lady, as he serenades her with the assist of a little Zapp & Roger-style talkbox. The just right hard-hitting and appropriately sensual synths and drums of the Mike & Keys-produced record provides the perfect backdrop for BJ to rep his home city, while also spittin’ the perfect game to his lady to get his weekday freakin’ on and make it feel like a weekend with how great it’s. Definitely another track, which really let’s BJ show his amazingly talented voice and ear for melodies on the very funky induced song, that will be sure to be in mine and I’m sure many others playlists for awhile and especially for when you’re looking for that go to record to get your freak on to.
