LeBron James Return To Hometown Cavaliers Shakes Parameters of NBA, Eastern Conference!

In this day and age of free agency never has one player shook up the parameters of one professional sports league so much as LeBron James did four years ago in the NBA when he decided to leave his hometown of Cleveland and the Cavaliers to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami with the goal of winning multiple championships for the Heat.

With James, “The Decision” special to make his announcement of joining forces with Wade and Bosh in Miami, as well as the welcome party for the newly formed Big Three at American Airlines Arena that took on a rock concert like atmosphere where the then two-time NBA MVP made his infamous declaration of winning, “Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven championships,” Bron and Miami quickly become the most hated team in all of sports.

The move also quickly set Cavs fans literally ablaze as they recorded themselves burning jerseys of their once prodigal son and Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert published an open letter to fans in which he aggressively denounced James actions literally moments after he learned of LeBron’s decision not to return to Cleveland.

Now four years later after winning two straight titles and going to four straight NBA Finals with Miami, James decided to opt out of his current contract and once again shake up the parameters of the NBA and sports world by becoming a free agent. Thus putting the basketball and sports world at his collective heels again while waiting for him to make a decision on where he would go.

In a move much more mature than his decision from four years ago, James quietly with the help of Sports Illustrated senior writer Lee Jenkins penned an elegant essay about his decision to return to his hometown Cavaliers and thus ending Miami’s four-year run as the head of the Eastern Conference.

By returning to Cleveland, the Cavaliers return their prodigal son only four years after he dodged them for greener pastures in Miami and all the shock waves he put a lot of them through with the burning of his jersey and the open letter Cavs owner Gilbert had put on the team’s website.

Ever the shred businessman, Gilbert recently removed the letter from the team’s website and had a face-to-face sit-down with James that was said to be a very big aid in helping orchestrate The King’s return to his hometown team.

By going to a talented but young and unproven team, James move back to the Cavaliers instantly puts them as a top two to three team in the East and could start a rivalry between the Chicago Bulls and James Cavs after ironically James Heat and the Bulls went through a rivalry that never really got renewed to much cause of former NBA MVP Derrick Rose’s constant injuries.

Now Miami moves down to near the middle of the pack and James move back to his hometown despite how tough it will be puts the Cavaliers as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and makes for a much different East that will have a lot of parity for the first time in awhile. Thus making myself, many other fellow NBA fans and sports writers excited to cover and follow the new NBA season when it gets underway in a couple of months.
