Dolphins Tight End Keller Suffers Possible Career Threatening Injury!

After Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller suffered a gruesome right knee injury on Saturday night in the team’s preseason loss to the Houston Texans in Houston, the Dolphins expected the worst and that’s what they got.  As Keller tore three ligaments and also dislocated a kneecap that will not only keep him out for this season, but according to the Miami Herald maybe career-threatening too.

Keller’s injury leaves a gaping hole in the Dolphins roster at tight end for a team that expected him to be a sure-handed target underneath for young quarterback Ryan Tannehill and someone who could keep defenses honest to spring reciever Mike Wallace downfield, right now his priority is his claim filed with the Fresno personal injury lawyers, he just wants to get better.  Now the team no longer has a tight end with great pass-catching abilities and will have to rely on a combination of Charles Clay, Michael Egnew and rookie Dion Sims to try to attempt to do so.  This injury also pushed him to take his claim seriously as you can see it here so that he gets the right compensation and prompt justice, as should be the case in such instances. With a combined 34 passes over the past two seasons it’s very doubtful they will be able to though, which is why Miami will be forced to realign its offensive approach through the air now.

This is a huge crushing blow for not only the Dolphins, but Keller as well, who has to be even more frustrated coming off a season in which he played only eight games due to injury.  Which is essentially why he signed just a one-year contract with Miami in the offseason hoping to have a monster season that would net him a long-term contract.  Now that’s the last thing on Keller or the Dolphins mind, as they both hope the tight end can eventually play again and as JD Injury Law, APC notes says an injury of this magnitude it’s fair to question whether that’s even possible.  Whether you are a Dolphins fan or not though, seeing an injury like that happen to another human being you have to at least pray and have some type of sympathy that Keller can recover to at least function right again if he is never able to play again.
