Things Come Full Circle For Charles Woodson Who Signs One-Year Deal With Raiders!

Charles Woodson

It took a little longer than expected for him to sign and find a new home after being released by the Green Bay Packers in February, but veteran safety Charles Woodson finally found a new and familiar home with the Oakland Raiders.

The market for Woodson was slow to form until last week when the veteran, who said early on in free-agency that he wanted to play for a contender was given a contract offer by the Raiders long-time rival Denver Broncos.

Denver seemed like the perfect fit for the 37-year-old Woodson given those circumstances.  Woodson ultimately decided to go back to something more familiar with the Raiders though, who he was a standout cornerback with from 1998-2005 when he went to half of his eight career Pro Bowls and made three of his seven All-Pro selections.

Things really came full circle for Woodson on Tuesday after he met with Raiders team officials and decided he wanted to return on a one-year deal to possibly play his final year with the team that drafted him fourth overall in the 1998 NFL Draft after winning the Heisman Trophy award with the University of Michigan and helping lead them to a national championship in the year before he was drafted in 1997.
