Loon Arrested On Drug Charges

While entering Belgium last Friday, former rapper Loon, now known as Amir Junaid Muhadith was arrested while at a Brussels airport for drug trafficking.

Various sources report the arrest stems from an indictment back in May for distributing heroin three years ago in North Carolina. He has now been extradited back to the U.S.

For those of you that are not to filmliar with Loon, he began his career as a rapper in Ma$e’s Harlem World group, who released their gold-selling debut The Movement in 1999. In 2002, the Harlem emcee really caught a big break as a featured artist alongside Usher on Diddy’s “I Need a Girl (Part One)” single and then again on its remix “I Need a Girl (Part Two).”

The next year, in 2003 Loon would go on to release his solo self-titled debut on the back of his Mario Winans-featured single “Down For Me.” He dropped his second single “How You Want That,” with Kelis, but after that Loon began to slowly fade into obscurity.
