Apple is once again, pulling the whole PhotoShop angle again. The good folks over at WebWereld have once again outed Apple for the lying crafty bunch that they are. In their court case against Samsung, Apple has submitted evidence to a court in the Netherlands purporting that Samsung’s popular Galaxy S phone is a direct copy of its popular iPhone. Apple claims that the Galaxy S copies the iPhone’s user interface and height to width ratio. But even a cursory glance at the photo above shows that this is not the case, as the Galaxy S specs are different. Apple even went as far a trying the old ‘use the Android app drawer as its home screen’ scheme that they used in its case against Samsung and their Galaxy Tab internet tablet. I guess this is a case of ‘if it worked the first time’, being that Apple recently won an injunction against Samsung, barring its sales of its products in Europe, though that ruling was later overturned.
Seriously, are all of these PhotoShop acts of tomfoolery really necessary from Apple? With as much money as they’re making off of sales of the iPhone and iPad, and as well liked they are by consumers, you would think they would have a little more self respect and be above this type of court manipulation. This just really smacks of desperation and outright greed from a company that is purported(my new favorite word) to have more money than the federal government and has more US media on its payroll side than any other tech company in the world. Hopefully these shenanigans won’t go unnoticed by the Netherlands courts and Apple gets slapped with a stiff fine and the spanking it deserves.
