Sony Ericsson XPeria Play hits Verizon May 26th, pre-order May 19th

This one is for all of you gamers out there. Ever wanted to rock your Playstation games and have a hot cell phone but don’t want to carry two devices? Well look no further than the Verizon Wireless bound Sony Ericsson XPeria PLAY.

Hitting VZW stores on May 26th but available for pre-order on May 19th, gaming fanatics will have their chance to jump on not only a high-end smartphone, but a veritable PSP type device as well. The XPeria Play comes with slide out gaming pad, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 2 processor w/Adreno 205 GPU, a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a VGA front facing camera for video chat and mobile hotspot functionality. It’ll be running Google Android’s latest flavor, Gingerbread and will be preloaded with seven game titles and the ability to download more via VZW’s V-CAST Apps.

This is  Sony’s answer to Apple’s wildly successful iPhone and with a little over a week to go before launch, with the right marketing, Sony can have a sure fire hit on their hands with games and smartphone enthusiasts alike.
