Marylanders living in South Korea can now trade their driver’s licenses for a Korean license without any further testing.
State officials are signing an agreement with South Korean Ambassador Han Duk-soo on Wednesday. The agreement will allow Marylanders with noncommercial licenses to skip a written or skills test in the Republic of Korea. It will also allow Korean citizens living in Maryland to do the same.
Motor Vehicle Administration spokesman Buel (byool) Young says after a yearlong review, officials determined the standards for the Korean licensing process are consistent with the state’s practices. Young says the state has a similar agreement with France.
