Earlier rumors that the white iPhone 4 was not in fact delayed, but cancelled, appear to be put to rest with signs and displays appearing in Apple stores trumpeting the device’s release, upcoming in Spring 2011. No surprise there: that was when Apple had announced the white iPhone 4 would be available.
However, some believed, with the date so close to the release of the next iPhone revision, Apple would simply cancel the version. Despite the fact that some have been willing to pay a pretty price for kits to build their own white iPhone 4, that quarter is when sales of iPhones typically slow, as many await the next version of the device.
Still, we know that Apple’s suppliers have white parts, and Apple may simply want to get rid of them.
