Hillary Clinton: Most Admired Woman of 2009

According to a recent Gallop poll, the United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is the Most Admired Woman of 2009.

With 16% of American votes, Clinton narrowly nudges by the former Republican Vice-Presidential canidate, Sarah Palin who closely followed with 15%.

First lady Michelle Obama might be feeling a bit slighted; She rests in fourth place right behind the queen of talk Oprah Winfrey.

With two simple questions: What woman have you heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire the most? And, who is your second choice?

Here’s the list:

  1. Hillary Clinton – 16%
  2. Sarah Palin – 15%
  3. Oprah Winfrey – 8%
  4. Michelle Obama – 7%
  5. Condoleezza Rice – 2%
  6. Queen Elizabeth II – 2%
  7. Margaret Thatcher – 1%
  8. Maya Angelou – 1%
  9. Angela Merkel – 1%
  10. Elen Nordegren Woods – 1%

That makes the 14 time for Hillary Clinton to receive the top honor for Most Admired Woman of the year.

Despite the mass critisism of his year since inagurated, President Barack Obama is the Most Admired Man this year, with 30% of people pulling for him.. he also won last year.

George W. Bush’s 39% in 2001 remains the all-time high for Most Admired Man.
