Drake Blogs About His Recovery.

Well, the good news is that Drake now has time to devote to that much-anticipated debut LP. On Sunday, Lil Wayne’s Young Money records franchise player posted a blog on his Web site telling fans that he’s near his hometown of Toronto, and that Opus One wine is his elixir as he recuperates from surgery on torn ligaments in his knee.

“My spirits are high my friends,” Drake wrote in the post titled “Angels and Demons.” “I am about two hours away from Toronto, Canada, where I will be spending the next chunk of time recovering from a surgery that I now must have.”

On Friday night in Camden, New Jersey, Drake’s already injured knee gave out as he was onstage for the Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Music Festival. Drake fell while performing “Best I Ever Had.”On Saturday night, tour headliner Lil Wayne announced that Drake would not be performing at the tour’s Jones Beach stop and was going into surgery on Sunday.

“I embarked on this tour with a torn ACL, MCL and LCL, and due to the events that happened the other night, lord only knows what other damage I have done,” Drake continued on his blog. “On the bright side, I will begin the reflecting and soul searching that it’s going to take to make this album, and my outfit on the night I fell was crack. I will forever push myself beyond the limits, despite advice and recommendations given, because even with this newfound success, I am still the kid who wanted this more than anything in the world.

“It’s funny, when I read comments from previous fans who have lost interest because of the radio play and exposure I have, I just want to assure anyone reading that nothing has changed on my end,” he went on. “I refuse to get comfortable, I refuse to fall in line and follow anyone else’s formulas. I still work as if So Far Gone had never dropped, and I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to gain entry to this game.” There still has been no official announcement made about Drake’s tour status, but it seems unlikely that he’ll be back on the road again anytime soon.
