Imagine losing a loved one, something you would never wish on anyone in this lifetime. A mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, etc…One of the hardest things you will ever have to do. There is an immense amount of grieving that goes along with the tragedy surrounding an event of this magnitude. Nothing can that wound. The only thing that can come close to closing it and resuming a normal life is a proper funeral and a nice burial to lay them at their final resting place where they can be at peace. What kind of heartless individual can just find it OK to remove the remains of a families loved one, let a lone a child.

Words can’t explain the feeling towards the individual involved in the scandal that took place at Burr Oaks Cemetary in Alsip, IL. Where investigators estimate the bodies of over 300 individuals have been removed or replaced, including an entire section dedicated to children. I know as GOD’s children we are not the one’s to judge others, but how can you not look down on those behind this horrific and trifling event.

Just days before this scandal was discovered the cemetary was shown in a negative light in the news for the horrid conditions and treatment of Civil Rights icon Emmett Till’s first casket which was found neglected and rusting in a back storage room. The only thing I can say is that we need to pray not only for the individuals who have been ousted out of their final resting place, or the families of the loved ones who have been desecrated, but also the individuals behind this.
